Fat Dog Slim Pack

Lexie’s weight has come down from 9kg to 8.4kg since June. We were feeding her the Barking Heads variety packs before along with IAMS kibble. Since switching to Fat Dog Slim wet and dry food (50/50) mix she has lost weight. It’s slow but steady progress which is how it should be. She absolutely loves her food and the plate is licked clean. We are of course cutting down on the treats and little extras too which helps. 🐶 she still has two walks a day and loves to chase her ball in the park. I found your website very helpful with suggesting how much of each foodstuff to give her. It was a bit of guesswork before as the info on the back of food packs is a bit generic.

Our 2 y o Cavapoo went from 8 to 9 kg in a year, mainly due I think to too many treats and extras being slipped her way when human food was being prepped. After a stern talking to from the vet nurse, we took things in hand and switched from the regular barking heads variety pack meals topped with IAMS kibble, to the chicken fat dog slim variety, and the fat dog slim kibble. We now give her 50:50 wet/dry and stick religiously to the recommended amounts for her age, ideal weight and activity levels as per Barking Heads excellent website. She was down to 8.6 when last weighed, and we’ve only been on the new regime a few weeks, so are very happy with the results so far. Not obsessive about it and not weighing her every week, not necessary - you can see and feel how your dogs weight is going and we will be careful not to let it drop too quickly. She still gets the occasional extra titbit but we are more mindful now. Lexie loves her food, bowl is licked clean and the food both looks and smells good. It’s not a cheap option but I firmly believe you get what you pay for, and if I wouldn’t eat cheap food myself, I can’t expect my pet to. The monthly subscription option gives you a discount, and free delivery (with a minimum spend) makes life easy. Very happy to recommend! 👍
