Charities

At Barking Heads we want to make sure that we’re doing our best to give dogs their healthiest, happiest lives – and by that we means all dogs

So we’re proud to support a variety charities that give a helping paw to those pooches and kitties who are having rough times, and do everything they can to keep tails wagging.

If you have a good cause that you’d like us to consider supporting as part of our Paws For Thought initiative please ping us an email at pr@petfoodukltd.com

Charities we Support

Thin Blue Paw

Barking Heads is bursting with pride to support The Thin Blue Paw Foundation - a national charity set up to support serving and retired police dogs across the UK. From finding high risk missing people, to removing drugs off the streets and catching criminals, everyday dogs are working across the UK to keep us safe. These heroic animals risk their lives every day they serve – but when they retire from active service they receive little to no financial support.

The team set themselves personal challenges to raise money for Pets As Therapy during Mental Health Awareness Week.

Greyhound Compassion

Greyhound Compassion is a small charity based in Wheathampstead, Herts, that support greyhounds rescued from racing in the UK and Ireland, as well as saving galgos from the neglect in Spain. We have a few greyhound owners in the Barking Heads team, so we’re chuffed to bits to support this local charity with food, and fundraising.

Rushton Dog Rescue

We've partnered with Rushton Dog Rescue, who work endlessly to rescue abused and abandoned dogs from all over the world - giving them a new happy, healthy life. The charity has saved over 4,000 dogs from almost certain death, and we are in complete awe of the amazing work they do. This December, we will be spreading the festive cheer and donating delicious doggie dinners to Rushton everytime someone joins our mailing list or orders from our website.

Dogs on the Streets (DOTS)

We’re a long-time supporter of DOTS donating food and time to this very special charity supporting the homeless community and their dogs. Julia and Claire from our Marketing team even spent a January night sleeping rough on the streets of London with DOTS greater understand the hardships that homeless owners and their dogs experience every single day.

Blue Cross and Trussell Trust

We partnered with Blue Cross and The Trussell Trust to help support vulnerable pet owners affected by the Covid-19 crisis, distributing 9,000 dog and cat food pouches to pet owners in need. Focusing on those living in more rural or isolated geographical areas, and those who were self-isolating because of age demographic or pre-existing health conditions.
