Firework Season - Vet Advice from Vet Dr Scott Miller
Firework Season - Vet Advice from Vet Dr Scott Miller
As pet owners we all know that firework season can be a stressful time for our four-legged family members. The loud bangs and bright lights can be very unsettling and upsetting.
Our vet Dr Scott Miller gives his advice on how to support your cat or dog through this challenging time.
Dr Scott's Top Tips for Firework Season:
- Exercise: Make sure your pet has had their exercise during the daylight hours when the bangs aren't going off - and make sure that they are inside when it is dark.
- Cover up: Close the curtains, put on some music (preferably with a bouncy happy beat - Dr Scott's top pick is some dance tunes) and build a den at the centre of the house
- Dinner: A full pet is a calm pet - so make sure your doggy's dinner in down in plenty of time for them to digest before the noises start.
However you're spending this firework season, we hope you all have a calm one.
